I bought the flat when I was a postgrad student at the Birmingham College of Food, due to its convenient location. As far as I am aware, there is nothing else in this price range with such a great location. It was a fantastic flat to live in both when I was a student and when I was working. It is equally suited to short-term rentals, being right in the city centre. The flat is unavailable until 1st April 2011. All the rooms are very bright, due to the large windows going the full length of one wall. The flat is centrally heated and double glazed. The flat is no pets and non-smoking (there is a balcony that may be used for smoking.) I have put together this page to answer many common questions - please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to know anything else. NB the flat has been painted since these photos were taken.
Parking There is paid parking at the bottom of the building, or free parking in Great Colmore Street (see map). If you are staying long-term and have a car, you can rent a space near to the flat for about ?5-?0 per month. I was fine with the free parking in Colmore Street while I was living in the flat. The flat is great for people without cars, due to its convenient location. Location The flat is located in Clydesdale Tower, Holloway Head, B1 1UG. Click here for a map. It is directly opposite the Radisson SAS hotel. Within 2 minutes walk is the Mailbox, with its collection of shops, bars & restaurants. In addition, there is a 24 hour convenience store that sells pretty much everything, a pizza shop & a curry house. New Street Station, the Bull Ring centre, Broad Street, Chamberlain Sqaure, Chinese quarter are all within 5 minutes walk. The flat is conveniently located for the city centre theatres and conference venues:
The flat is 10 minutes walk from University College Birmingham (College of Food) and the UCE Birmingham Conservatoire. Rates short-term. These rates include all utility bills, tv license, council tax, service charge. It should be noted that the flat is NOT serviced accommodation. Whilst there is a cleaner who will come in once a week, it is up to you to carry out day to day cleaning, and ensure that the flat is clean & tidy when you leave. An extra charge of £25-£100+ will be levied for any cleaning that needs to be done when you leave. To avoid this charge, clean up after yourself!
These rates are for the flat and NOT per person! We do not recommend the flat for more than 4 people except for families (as there is only one bathroom). Long term. These rates include service charge but exclude utility bills, tv license, council tax, weekly cleaner (up to you if you have one or not!)
